The Hydroelectric power plant Yacyretá is located on the Paraná river, near the city of Ituzaingó, Corrientes province. Entrepreneurship is shared between Argentina, and Paraguay. It has an installed capacity of 3,100 MW.
Energía Argentina, on behalf of the National State, it receives and sells most of its production in the Wholesale Electricity Market (MEM). The rest of the energy generated is sold in Paraguay.

The wholesale electricity market in 2024
This Hydroelectric power station is located on the Uruguay river, in the vicinity of the city of Concordia, province of entre Ríos. It has an installed capacity of 1,890 MW, and is operated by the “Commission Mixed media Salto Grande” (CTMSG).
The production of energy is shared between Argentina and Uruguay in equal parts.

Interconnections
The system has lines and substations that are interconnected and allow for the exchange of energy between the countries. Thus, in specific moments of need, willingness import and export operations of electric energy with neighbouring countries.
Interconnection with Brazil
The exchanges under the Energy orbit Argentina are made via the high-voltage line at 132 kV that connects the transformer station Step-Free (Argentina) and the Converter station Frequency Uruguayana (Brazil), with a transmission capacity of 50 MW.
Interconnection with Paraguay
While there are 3 interconnections with 3 voltage levels different, the contributions from Paraguay was limited mainly to the interconnection Carlos A. López - El Dorado - for the supply of the needs of the province of Misiones in the area of influence of the interconnection.
Interconnection with Uruguay
The business transaction is governed by the Agreement for the Implementation of the Agreement of Energy Interconnection between the Argentine Republic and the Eastern Republic of the Uruguay, approved by the Law no. 23.390.
