Through two power plants generate 8% of the electric energy consumed in Argentina.
Thermal Power Plants
Energía Argentina holds a majority stake in the General Manuel Belgrano thermoelectric plant – one of the most efficient in the combined cycle system – and in the San Martín thermoelectric plant, which is among the most modern and important in the country due to its power level, unit performance and efficiency, as well as the plant's safety and reliability systems. Together, they generate 8% of the electricity consumed in Argentina.
For the generation of electricity, the two have combined cycle. That is to say, that used in a first stage gas turbine natural and in a second stage using exhaust gas hot to generate steam and water to operate a steam turbine.

The Thermoelectric San Martín is located among the most modern and most important in the country for the level of power, performance and efficiency of their units, systems safety and reliability of the plant, as well as the very low emissions (below what is established in the current legislation).
Under Construction
Hydroelectric utilization of the Santa Cruz river
The Santa Cruz River Hydroelectric Project (AHRSC) has an estimated total generation of 5,200 GWh/year of clean and renewable energy.
It includes the construction of the works Pdte. Dr. Néstor Carlos Kirchner (NK) -located in Condor Cliff - of 950 MW of installed power, Governor Jorge Cepernic (JC) -located in The Barrancosa - 360 MW, and the corresponding Line of Extra High Voltage (LEAT) 172 km long to connect the power plants to the Argentine Interconnection (SADI).
On the Santa Cruz River, 120 kilometers east of the city of El Calafate.
Pdte. Dr. NK
It has a dam of loose material with screen waterproof of concrete on its upstream face.
Dimensions
Total length: 1.905 m.
Max height: 70 m.
Team
5 Francis-type turbines of 190 MW each (950 MW in total).
Generation
3.200 GWh, operating in peak regime (annual average).
Landfill
4 bays with a capacity of total discharge of 4.163 m3/s, which corresponds to a flow rate of recurrence of 10,000 years. This safety device enables you to evacuate the water in extraordinary conditions.

Team
3 turbines of Kaplan type of 120 MW each (360 MW in total).
Generation
The regime of operation is the basis and the annual generation is estimated to 2,000 GWh/year.
Landfill
5 apertures of 12 meters wide each and are equipped with radial gates. The ability to download is 4.163 m3/s (which corresponds to a recurrence of 10,000 years ago).
Vientos de la Patagonia ISA
Constituted with the aim of promoting the development of the wind industry national. At present, this company has no activity.
Energía Argentina is the owner of 80% and the Province of Chubut, in the remaining 20%.
The society owns the Wind farm, The Dapple, located 40 kilometers from the city of Comodoro Rivadavia, on land given on lease by the company YPF.
It features two turbines of national origin of 1.5 MW each. Connects to the SADI using lines own of 10.4 kV at the Station Transforming The Gray (the property of the company Tecpetrol).
Currently, these aeronavegadores are out of service.
