Regasification

The Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is obtained by cooling Natural Gas (NG) to an extreme temperature of -160°C at atmospheric pressure until it becomes liquid. This allows to reduce the volume and that it can be transported on ships around the world.

Regasification Terminal

In times of higher demand, in Argentina is imported Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) through the vessels.

In order for LNG to reach users, it is necessary to regasify it and inject it into the national gas grid. To achieve this, Energía Argentina owns and operates, in partnership with YPF, a regasification terminal located in Escobar, Buenos Aires, and a contracted Regasification Vessel.

Regasification is developed using procedures approved by international quality standards ISO 9001.

How is the process of regasification?

The LNG is obtained by cooling natural gas composed mainly of methane-, at a temperature of -160°C at atmospheric pressure until it becomes liquid. Reducing its volume by about 600 times, and allowing it to be transported in ships around the world.

When you arrive at the regasification terminal Energy Argentina -who has contracted a Ship Regasificador with a capacity of 88 million cubic metres - it is possible to convert the LNG back into natural gas suitable for injecting into the national network of gas pipelines. In accordance with the regulations in force, the daily flow of injection of the plant is 19 million cubic meters a day approximately.
